30 minute Friday

Well, another week has gone by, and I have finished a few more Christmas gifts!

Monday: I continued working on my niece's vest. I got the armhole bindings, side seams and hem done.

Tuesday: My niece's little vest is done. I only had to attach the collar and snaps. It turned out real cute! In the first photo below, you can see the undercollar that I cut out of a cotton print. This helped to reduce the bulk in the collar area. I also used the same fabric to make the binding for the armholes.

Wednesday: The robe was started. I chose to work on all the small parts: the belt, the belt loops, and the pockets. Once these are assembled, the rest of the project will go quickly.

Thursday: The shoulder seams were sewn, the sleeves installed and the side seams done. Almost done!

Friday: I had to sew early today before working out - the children are home from school because of the weather. I did get the robe done! With only the facing and hems to finish, it was pretty easy. Here it is:

Next week, pajamas for my son!

Parting Shot: Ice. We're having quite an ice storm here today. What looks like fur in the photo below is actually the grass of my front lawn encased in ice. We're very fortunate that we still have power right now - over 300,000 people in my state do not. Let's pray the power companies will be able to get out and fix those lines.

That fleece fabric is so cute. Both DD and your niece should be very happy with their gifts. It has been very wet and cold here too (relative at least for summer). Today we are forcast to have storms. I hate it when it is suposed to be summer yet I am sitting here in my polar fleece dressing gown (and it is not as cute as your DD's!)

Both projects are so cute! The vest is really practical but still fun! Your daughter will love that cozy robe too. thanks for sharing!

The ice looks very scary--during my 10 years on the East Coast I remember ice being much more frightening than snow. Be careful!

Your vest and robe are darling.
DH and I are on the North Shore right now and woke up to this mess. One of DD's neighbors had a very large tree fall across the middle of both cars in the driveway, I mean crushed! We went all over the place trying to get some milk. Because they lost power stores were required to throw out their refrigerated items so try and find eggs and butter to make my grandons birthday cake! We take so much for granted. I pray you are OK as I know it is very bad up there. We used to live in Weare and from what we have been told it is at a standstill up there. I hope you are luckier. Ice storms are so scary but certainly have an awesome beauty.

What a busy elf you are!

I've been thinking of you today, as NH's weather is making the news way out here on the West Coast. So glad your power stayed on.

Hope your burn heals up soon!

My sister in S. Berwick ME is without power. I hate ice storms. Stay warm.

Oh,these are adorable. These make me want to be little again so I am allowed to wear such cuteness.

You have been SO busy - as always! Kudos.

Lovely gifts!

Last night we were hit with an ice storm. I'm thankful that we didn't lose power. And that I'm blessed with a job that allows me to work from home.
